About iFlood
iFlood is a partnership between researchers at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, communities, and managers to identify flood hotspots, improve flooding predictions, and develop mitigation strategies. Citizen-scientist flood reports submitted by you provide our research team with data about the location and timing of flooding events that help us evaluate and improve models for flooding owing to ocean, lake, and river processes, rainfall, and overland flows, and that are influenced by geotechnical and aquifer properties.
The development of iFlood and this flood-related research is funded by the U.S Coastal Research Program and the National Science Foundation. Images used in the app graphics were provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Field Research Facility.
